OUR SHOP

Record Grouch is a NYC-based record shop specializing in New and Used vinyl Lps, 7" and 12" singles, tapes, compact discs and printed matter (books and ‘zines). Located in the center of North Brooklyn's Greenpoint neighborhood, we give equal space to foundational Used records across all genres and experimental New releases from both the past and present. We dedicate exclusive sections to many notable contemporary and archival labels from around the world (Editions Mego, Sublime Frequencies, Black Truffle, Subliminal Sounds, Unseen Worlds, Siltbreeze, Sub Rosa, Recital, Recollection GRM, Nashazphone, Black Sweat, Finders Keepers, among others), as well as publishers and periodicals to keep one both historically grounded and up-to-date (Bazillion Points, The Wire, Ugly Things, Dynamite Hemorrhage, Record Collector, Decibel). We are always looking for more labels, artists, publishers and ‘zines to support and learn from, so reach out. Regionalism and the local matters in music, folks, as much as the past and the present. To that end, we feature many local artists and musicians, as well as two shop-related labels: Amish Records and Future Audio Graphics.

If we don't have it on the shelf, we'll either find it for you or direct you to one of the other great shops in the neighborhood who may. Please come visit the neighborhood and support all the shops (Academy, Captured Tracks, The Thing, Archestratus Books + Food, etc.) and venues (Saint Vitus).
