Omit: inSec (Siltbreeze)

$23.00

“Shop fave Siltbreeze Records delivers the first ever vinyl full-length from Omit (other notable vinyl releases being the excellent K-Group/Omit collaborations, including a 12” on Fusetron and a 7” on Colorful Clouds for Acoustics).

There are many many tapes, Cdrs, 7”s & lathe cuts, but this full-length LP explores some new ground, though the material dates back a decade.

Always a joy to absorb new sounds from the mysterious world of Clinton Williams. inSec is comprised of 8-track recordings, but as with any Omit recordings the sounds exist outside of temporal constraints and feel as contemporary or ancient as one might wish to hear.

"PreSec" opens Side 1 with an eerie wash of sound and static pops that form as much of a beat as Omit permits. "Segmentor" moves through burbling electronic polyrhythms. "Dipvoid" moves at a steady pace, albeit dirge-like as it stretches out over 20 minutes. And "Sector Fade" does just that, fading away from the pulsing electronics into synth washes, then silence.

An understated non-digital proto-electronic record with lovely art and a insert documenting the methods to the madness should anyone wish to attempt an Omit cover band.”

Highly recommended & limited to 280, so act fast.
